IATA DG Acceptance Training

This training is for:

  • Freight forwarder employees that process shipments of dangerous goods (IATA Category 3)
  • Air carrier employees that accept shipments of dangerous goods (IATA Category 6)

The length of this class is:

  • 3 days for the initial training
  • 3 days for recurrent training (required at least every 24 months)

This training covers:

  • Identifying dangerous goods shippers responsibilities for:
    • Classification of the dangerous goods
    • Selecting the correct Proper Shipping Name
    • Determining quantity-per-package limits
    • Properly packaging the dangerous good
    • Marking and labeling the package
    • Preparing the documentation for the shipment
    • Ensuring the packages are in proper condition for carriage
    • Determining if any state or operator variations apply to the shipment
  • Dangerous goods acceptance procedures
  • Dangerous goods handling procedures
  • Provision of information requirements, including notification to the captain of the aircraft (NOTOC) and emergency information
  • Recognition of undeclared dangerous goods
  • Emergency procedures

IMDG Training for Shore-Side Personnel

This training is for:

  • Freight forwarder employees that process shipments of dangerous goods for transport by sea

The length of this class is:

  • 1 day
  • This IMDG training is an extension of the IATA DG Acceptance training and may only be attended by individuals that have successfully completed that class.

This training covers the aspects of the IMDG Code and the United States Code of Federal Regulations that differ from the requirements in the IATA DGR, including:

  • Package requirements
  • Quantity-per-package limitations
  • Transport document requirements
  • Segregation requirements for different dangerous goods
  • Loading and placarding requirements for cargo transport units
  • Emergency response procedures

Please contact IAC Training, Inc. to register for this class. Tuition is only an additional $199.00 if taken in conjunction with the IATA DG Acceptance Training.

Training is held at airport area hotels. You will be advised of your specific hotel and its address after submitting your registration and tuition fee. Class is 8 hours in duration.

We continue to schedule classes in cities other than those listed above. Please contact us to determine availability.

Should your company prefer in-house training at your facility please contact us directly so that we may customize a training date and location for you.

Tuition is non-refundable but may be applied in advance to another student or class upon payment of a $50.00 change fee.

Change fee of $100.00 for registration changes made as a result of a no-show to class.
